About Desktop Resources
Desktop Resources was founded by Robert A. Seeley, a publications developer, writer, and Macintosh consultant based in Philadelphia. It began work in April, 1995.
Desktop Resources provides a variety of publication, fundraising, and Macintosh consulting services, including desktop publishing, World Wide Web page design, a small catalog of publications, grant proposal writing, and Macintosh system setup, tutoring, and troubleshooting. It works primarily with small businesses and nonproft groups, and therefore keeps its rates as low as possible.
Approximate Prices
We make every effort to keep our prices within a range that you can afford. The sample prices quoted below are based on our best estimate of the time each project is likely to take, but times and charges will vary with the complexity of each project. If we cannot complete a project within the time estimated, we will either
- Consult you before proceeding further
- Complete the project at a lower rate; or
- Complete the project for the estimated price
In most cases we will simply complete the project for the estimated price.

There are a lot of unscrupulous people out there on the Internet. Desktop Resources is not among them, but you don't know that. You also are not among them, but we don't know that. For your protection and ours, we have adopted the following policies.
- Before we can accept a project and begin work on it, we ask that you provide us with a surface mail address and a telephone number so that we can get in touch with you if need be. We also need your address for shipping (if applicable) and billing.
- We perform most work on a handshake agreement. If you desire, however, we will e-mail to you a statement of the terms and conditions of the project. This will protect the interests of both parties. The wording of this statement will be negotiable, but in order to begin work, we will need a return e-mail from you specifically accepting our offer and agreeing to the terms and conditions in the statement. This offer and acceptance will constitute the contract between us and will serve as a legally-sufficient substitute for a signed hard-copy contract unless you desire such a contract in addition to the e-mail agreement.
- On consulting projects, if you have a list of specific tasks that you need done, we ask that you provide it so that we can be sure we have fulfilled your requests. If you do not provide such a list, either in writing or orally, we will use our best judgment as to what needs to be done. Please note that our charges are based on time worked, not on tasks accomplished. If you or someone else completes one of your specified tasks in advance of our starting work, there will be no special discount, although our time worked may be shorter (and charges lower) as a result.
