Introducing Germantown
A Classic Town of Greater Philadelphia
This page is an introduction to a rich and fascinating neighborhood in Philadelphia. It has three parts:
- Listings of historic sites, and other places to visit for both visitors and residents. These listings are intended to be introductory only; they are not complete.
- Guides both for residents and for people who are considering moving to the neighborhood. This section currently includes a list of schools. Other information will be added as time and resources permit.
- A series of photo albums that present places in the neighborhood.
Germantown is lively and diverse, with people of many backgrounds, races, and income levels. It has a long history and a strong sense of community. People here know their neighbors and talk with them regularly; residents can walk to the store; and gardeners compare notes and help to maintain the local park. It is a good place to live and to visit.
