How to Get to Germantown

Germantown is located in the Northwest part of Philadelphia, within a mile of the Wissahickon Valley in Fairmount Park. It is easy to reach by car and by public transportation.

By Car: From central Philadelphia, take the Schuylkill Expressway and follow the signs for Lincoln Drive. Follow Lincoln Drive to Rittenhouse Street, which branches off Lincoln Drive at the first traffic light. Turn right at Rittenhouse to Wayne Avenue, one of the main streets of Germantown.

By Train: Take the Chestnut Hill West local (R8) from central Philadelphia to Chelten Avenue or Tulpehocken station.

By Bus: Take Route 23 from central Philadelphia. This is a long ride, and you may prefer the train or the bus and subway.

By Bus and Subway: Take the Broad Street Subway to Olney Avenue. From there, take Route 26 to Germantown and Chelten Avenues.
